Wanderer of the Week: Bill T.

Bill’s Story of Family, Resilience, and the Love of the Game

At The Wander Club, we believe travel isn’t just about where you go: it’s about the memories you make and the people who share them with you.

Every token tells a story, and for Bill, each one marks a journey of determination, healing, and connection through the sport he loves most: baseball.

After facing a heart attack and bypass surgery earlier this year, Bill made a promise to himself. At 69, he decided to keep moving forward: not just for his health, but for his joy.

His goal? To visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. So far, he’s already been to 17, and he’s bringing along family and friends to help him complete the rest.

What started as a father-and-son tradition has now grown into a family-wide adventure.

“Every summer my husband and son took a trip to a different city to see the Phillies play,” shared his wife, Karen.

“Some places they visited were San Francisco, Boston, New York, Milwaukee, and Miami. It was such a great thing for a father and son to do.”

These days, Bill’s journey continues with his brother, brother-in-law, and even his nephews, who plan to join him in 2026 to finish the quest.

From Yankees Stadium to Citizens Bank Park, every trip brings new laughter, memories, and a growing chain of tokens that tell his story.

Traveling solo at times, Bill has also found something unexpected along the way — a connection.

“People are really interested in what he’s doing, and he’s meeting lots of great people across the U.S.,” Karen said.

Each conversation, each game, and each token is a reminder that adventure and community can be found anywhere, even in the stands.

For Bill, these travels are more than a pastime. They’re a celebration of life, a way to stay active, stay curious, and keep looking forward.

“Seeing the stadiums and gathering the tokens gives him incentive to keep moving on,” Karen shared.

As he approaches his 70th birthday, Bill’s collection is more than a tribute to baseball. It’s a symbol of perseverance, family bonds, and the spirit of living life fully: one ballpark, one memory, and one token at a time.

Here’s to you, Bill, and to everyone chasing their next adventure with heart, hope, and a story worth collecting!
