Racing Through Resilience: Ellis & Brad’s Story
At The Wander Club, we believe that travel isn’t just about where you go. It’s about the strength you find along the way, the people who walk beside you, and the memories that remind you how far you’ve come.
For Ellis, that journey is one of resilience, love, and choosing joy even in the hardest seasons.

Nearly five years into cancer survivorship, Ellis and her husband Brad made a powerful decision: to keep living fully. What started as a love for NASCAR infield racing quickly became a meaningful way to celebrate life, friendship, and community.
With their 5th wheel, a close-knit group of friends, and their beloved dog Corn Cob along for the ride, race weekends turned into something far bigger than the track.

They became milestones: moments of freedom, laughter, and healing.
“While on my cancer journey… my husband and I started going to the NASCAR infield. We have a nice 5th wheel and lots of friends. Love it.”
Each race represents more than speed or competition. It’s a reminder of survivorship. Of choosing experiences over fear. Of showing up for life with gratitude and heart.
Ellis’ TWC collection holds these memories close, not just places visited, but moments lived fully. They mark weekends filled with connection, sunsets shared with friends, the hum of engines in the background, and the simple joy of being together.

When Ellis told us, “I have nothing to hide. I love sharing my journey that maybe it would help others,” it perfectly captured what Wanderer of the Week is all about.
Stories like hers remind us that travel doesn’t have to be far-flung or fancy to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s about returning to what makes you feel alive.
Ellis and Brad’s story is a beautiful reminder that healing can happen anywhere (even at a racetrack) when love, courage, and community lead the way.
Here’s to Ellis, Brad, Corn Cob, and every survivor who chooses joy, one memory at a time.
Do you have a story behind your collection that means the world to you?
We’d love to hear it. Share your journey with us on social @thewanderclub or email hi@thewanderclub.com for a chance to be featured as our next Wanderer of the Week.
