Onward With Intention: Ashanti’s Story

At The Wander Club, we believe travel isn’t about moving without purpose. It’s about living with meaning, connection, and courage.

Ashanti lives this belief every day.

“I’m on an escape mission to live life more abundantly, using the gifts God has given me—humility and hard work—knowing there may be suffering along the way, but trusting in a reward greater than all things: His beautiful works and the people we so often take for granted.”

Many people think wandering means being lost. Ashanti sees it differently.

“To travel is to have an aim and be fixed with a goal,” she explains. “A goal of seeking, learning, and patience, driven by a clear path toward understanding oneself and one’s experiences.”

Her collection is tied to a special family memory from the 1980s. After the sudden loss of her grandfather, her family traveled from Ohio across the country in an RV called the Honey Bee, heading toward California’s golden coast. Her parents had one goal: peace.

“Leaving,” Ashanti says. “Yes, temporary but the healing is permanent.”

For Ashanti, The Wander Club is about more than tokens. It’s about moving through life with intention, guided by each new day.

“It’s the meeting of kindred souls and shared experiences,” she says.

Through photos from her past and present, Ashanti reminds us that meaningful travel doesn’t depend on money or distance.

“It doesn’t take money to travel,” she shares, “but a goal, a hope, a wish… a need to see better in others that you may or may not see in yourself.”

To Ashanti, wandering is not about being lost.

“To wander is not to get lost,” she says. “But to find one’s self… in nature, in experiences, and in others. It’s called living.”

And her journey isn’t over.

Her next token of living: Brazil.
Onward.

Ashanti’s story reminds us that travel can heal, connect, and strengthen our faith. It’s a way of living fully and with purpose.

Here’s to Ashanti — The Fearfully Courageous Traveller — and to every wanderer choosing meaning, memory, and grace, one journey at a time.
